Family

In a small sleepy town a ninth grader happily strings a makeshift musical instrument from bamboo sticks. Faint notes waft to entertain prospective buyers as her mother painstakingly crafts basket after basket for sale at the village market.

Amidst the hustle bustle of a metropolis, in a dark shady lane behind the school compound, a seventh grader has her first taste of a cigarette and alcohol on a dare from her peers.

Both come from broken homes.

I wonder what sets them apart?

The cities they belong to, their upbringing, family circumstances or their friends?
